You can buy the new phone at Best Buy and trade it there with a Verizon rep. I worked with one on my upgrade, fabulous customer service.

It took me some time to get to a person at Verizon who would help me but they mailed me a box with postage paid to trade in my phone after buying at Best Buy. Supposedly you can do this on the Verizon Wireless site but for some reason, I was unable to add a device,i.e., my old phone, to trade in. The Customer Support person was super helpful though and got me in touch with the right people who, with a little push took care of mailing the box to me. Good luck.
