Are you able to use barnes and noble gift cards with this tablet? I'm researching tablets as a birthday present for my step mom. She really wants a tablet that she can use both Google Play and Barnes and Noble on. I'm just wondering if you can buy books off of Barnes and Noble gift cards on this tablet?

Barnes and Noble has the "Nook" App, which is available for Android.

Your mom's current account can be updated, and - once the App is installed - will be synced up to the mobile or tablet device as well. We're unable to determine if you can update the account with a gift card on the phone (that's a question for B&N to better answer), but it can be redeemed through the traditional way and you can still apply it on the Nook App.

The Play Store contains a Nook app by Barnes and Noble. I believe you can use the app for gift cards and purchasing, if not (I don't have the app), there's always the browser version of their store. On their site they show support for apple products as well as Android and Windows as well as a web based Nook that lets you read right from your browser. (Chrome, Mozilla, Safari etc...) You can use both. =]
