Does hook up to wifi alone?? null

Not sure I understood exactly what you were asking. I bought the version that does not have a mobile plan. It must be connected to a wifi network to use apps that don't work without some type of internet connection.

As far as I know it only hooks up to wifi but is easy to set up.

Yes, the model I bought is WiFi only. But, for a few dollars more the are tablets that do both.
