Check the model number with AT&T customer service. The one I purchased was WiFi only.

The model numbers differ slightly, the T-860 is wifi only (but you can get a hotspot or some other device like a mobile router or do tethering to the tablet). There is a T-865 and T-867, I think but don't rely on the first is Verizon (and Sprint), the second is GSM (featuring T-Mobile). You might want to see if AT&T sells a version of the tablet and get the exact model number. I've seen some strange things like only certain colors are available with certain carriers. I have the larger memory Wifi only tablet, but I use it with a mobile router or USB "mifi" attached. If you already have an AT&T phone, you can likely "tether" it or make it a hotspot for any tablet.
