Photoshop is better used in Windows running devices. Therefore, the Surface would be more suitable for that use. However, for media consumption, such as watching Netflix or surfing the web, since the Galaxy Tab has better specifications and better screen than Surface 's (in its price equivalent version) and has a lighter OS, Samsung's would probably be the better option.

I have the SP6, and also a Tab S4. I love my Tab, but the Surface Pro is more powerful and versatile. Definitely recommend the Surface Pro 6 as your main computer as a student.
