Yes, that's why I bought it. I write notes at work and needed a tablet that did this. You can leave it as handwriting or turn your handwriting into text. You can store your notes in folders. You can also add pictures or screenshots to your notes too. It's amazing.

Yes, I don't use this feature myself. But I ran into by accident.
