• I know it has a GPS, but I don't know if its stand alone. Try Googling it, or YouTube.

• Yep it has onboard GPS and can track a workout without your phone nearby. It does however take 30-60 seconds to get a GPS signal (slightly longer in areas with lots of tall buildings). It needs your phone nearby to send/receive texts and notifications and sync its data with your phone (so you can view it on your phone later) but that's pretty much it. It can do everything else on its own.
