• Yes it can and if you get the LTE version. It makes it like a mini phone on your wrist.

• Hi Gigi. This model of the Galaxy Watch Active2 is the Bluetooth version. It is only able to be about 30 feet away from your phone to remain connected. If you would like to go further away without carrying your mobile device, it would be better to purchase the LTE version. The LTE version does require activating a wireless plan through your carrier.
