• no it can't. You have to have your cell phone with you and connected via bluetooth. Unless you have a LTE directly from a cell phone store. That is the only way it will work without your cell phone.

• I do not use it that way, so, for me, the calls come from my phone to my watch by Bluetooth. I am fairly certain that this watch supports direct access but you need to.purchase and maintain a line or data plan for it from your cell carrier.
