Yes, that is true. To be specific it is the, ECG and Blood pressure functionality of the watch. Those two are tied to the Samsung Health Monitor App, that is included only on Samsung Galaxy Phones. They say it is related to privacy and FDA issues. There is a way around it, but you have to side load (Custom APK) an app to your phone and watch. Search the forums.xda-developers.com you'll find the thread.

It was known right from the start that ECG and blood pressure monitoring were only certified to work with Samsung smartphones. So, since you don't have a Samsung smartphone, you won't be able to use it.Feb 13, 2022
