“Does this produce a normal video file (eg. Mp4, etc) to use with other VR platforms - cardboard, occulus, TBD future, etc. Plan to use this for my wedding and children and will want it accessible forever - even if samsung goes under ;)”

Yes. You can film it from a phone, or download the file onto the computer and upload it to some website to view it.
