“Why does the product description say that it has built in GPS, but when looking at the comparison table next to other watches it doesn't show built in GPS marked and that this watch has it?”

It does have a built in GPS allowing you to leave your phone home and still track your run. It also has a bit of storage to hold music so you can stream to your Bluetooth headphones - all without the need to carry your phone.

This watch does have gps. When it comes to other sites they might not check everything out,

It uses gps through your phone to track your run. And maps it for u.

I'm not totally sure on this, but I believe the GPS function is via a GPS capable smartphone. It will keep track of steps, heart rate without the phone but I'm not sure about distance.
