If you buy the att version of this version at full price which is 350, you won't have to sign any contract. At any time you can add cellular service to the att version for extra charges.

For the LTE version it would depend on your carrier. I'm with T-Mobile, and there are no contracts. If I were to purchase it from them and pay it out under their EIP, it would be an interest free payout, however if you cancelled your service, you'd be responsible for paying the balance on your watch.
