• If you hook it up via HDMI then it should turn on/off with your TV.

• Hello Charlie, The HW-B650 Soundbar will automatically power on when using an Optical Cable. If you are using an HDMI cable make sure that HDMI-CEC or Anynet+ is turned on through your TV settings and it will power on/off as well. ~Samsung Solutions
