Why do I need to update firmware on my soundbar with thumb drives to work with my brand new LG tv? Should your company be doing this free for the customers? null

Sometimes there are new firmware updates after the product has been manufactured but before you take it home form a store or have it shipped to you.

Unless you are having issues with your soundbar an update is probably not necessary. Instructions are on Samsung's website.  It's been this way for years.

If you purchase a higher end Samsung soundbar that has a wi-fi connection a firmware update can be completed via their Smart Things app. This soundbar has no wi-fi option.

Once you've purchased they aren't able to do so. It's not like a computer
