No. Atmos is supported by what you're watching. If disc, it will be printed on the case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can only decode the full Atmos signal through the sound bar. Also not everything uses Atmos so no you don’t only get Atmos with this. You get support for whatever other audio format there is out there. Could be Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS: X, etc etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can get Dolby Atmos with any capable TV as long as you connect the sound bar to it via eARC. Regular HDMI, optical, or other cables do not have the bandwidth for Atmos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it depends on your "source". I'm using it with a Chromecast plugged into the only HDMI input on the soundbar and get Atmos content just fine. I am unable to use HDMI ARC (on my Samsung TV which is several years old) even though Atmos "should" work over HDMI ARC (vs. eARC) according to the salesperson. DTS:X reqires eARC. If your Sony is newer and has HDMI eARC, then you should be able to plug your sources into the TV and return the audio to the soundbar via a HDMI cable to the soundbar "HDMI out" connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Atmos will be there no matter what TV as long as you have it connected to the ARC/eARC port on the TV and the TV is set to "pass through" the audio stream. You can confirm the audio being fed to it by double tapping the "i" button on the included remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. As long as you use the eARC connection with an HDMI cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Katie, You definitely can enjoy full-fat Atmos with the HW-Q930B. When connected to a non-Samsung TV, please change the TV’s eARC output setting to “Automatic” – this will allow Atmos to play on the HDMI ARC port. ^Andrew
