“Is it possible to connect additional speakers? E.g. have movie experience with built in 11.1.4 but be able to extend with 2 speakers in the dining place to have full living room music experience? Would rear speaker kit work with this one?”

I believe you can as long as they are the same type of Bluetooth speakers . There is also a arc cable connection on the main soundbar that you could also add speakers to a Bluetooth transmitter to extra speakers.
