I am of the understanding that Atmos info is in the signal all the way to the soundbar and will be decoded there. I have the same situation. However, if you wished to be doubly sure contact Samsung through their website< I'm sure they will respond quickly.

When paired with the HW-Q950A soundbar, you will experience no issues hearing all of the immersive surround sound provided by Dolby Atmos. External devices can be connected direct to the TV.
