Hello JAMNole. Yes, you can use your remote to control your soundbar Volume when connected via HDMI (Arc). To control the volume with Alexa you will need to have your Soundbar connected via Wi-Fi and set it up via SmartThings and the Alexa App. ~ Samsung Solutions
