Hi TT, We recommend you place the soundbar with the front speakers facing where you are sitting for a better audio experience. If you have a compatible Samsung TV you can enjoy the Q-Symphony feature which allows you to utilize both TV and Soundbar speakers. If you do not have a Q-Symphony compatible Samsung TV you will just get audio from the HW-S60D Soundbar. ~ Samsung Solutions
