• No, you have to lift tablet off the cover (it is held on magnetically, so it's easy).

• The keyboard cover booklet shows the camera hole. Inside the case itself, where the opening should be, there is a little carved out area that looks the same as the place for the pen holder. This appears to be a manufacturing error and not by design. The idea of pulling off a magnetic cover to take a photo is not very elegant and Samsung should fix this.
