Absolutely. I have this setup, and just verified it. If you fold the keyboard back, when you touch the screen with your finger or stylus, the on-screeen/touchscreen keyboard pops up automatically. The keyboard receives it's power from the tablet itself, so the case-keyboard is only active while docked with a physical connection.

Yes. You can fold it back and set it on a desk or table top or use it hand-held. Some applications on my tablet only display in portrait mode so I have to fold the keyboard back and use the screen keyboard for them. I do it all the time.
