I just want to clarify a point, this is not a USB 3.1 Gen 2 working at 10 GB as mentioned by others comments but a USB 3.1 Gen 1 working at 5 GB, the same exact speed as USB 3.0. The main advantage of this drive compared to a similar capacity flash drive, is basically his tremendous speed. This drive contains a Samsung mSata 850 EVO SSD working around 450 MB/s. Only the very best flash drives on the market, which are extremely rares, can attains half of that speed, not to mentioned that most of them are very slow compared to a good SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Freaky fast worth while buying it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The fact that it is USB 3.1 and not just 3.0. The 3.1 standard provides 10 Gbps transfer speed which is double the 3.0 standard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a cheap external hard drive with a great performance and extremely small, you can carry on wherever you want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This one has the USB 3.1 which will allow you to transfer data from it to your computer (IF your computer has a USB 3.1 port) at twice the speed of the USB 3.0. The new 3.1 will transfer data at speeds up to 10GB per second whereas the 3.0 is only up to 5GB per second. its a bit overkill IMO. The brand also might have an effect because different companies of course have difference components. Samsung recently released a new SSD which is about 4X faster read speeds and 3X faster write speeds than any of their previous SSD's. I do not know which SSD is used in this external SSD or in the other one you have your eye on so I can not say which SSD is better
