“Can the AutoRelease feature be disabled? If so, how will this affect drying? I'm not sure a toddler and an auto-open dishwasher would go too well together.”

• Hi Matt, you can disable the AutoRelease feature. Press the Delay Start button to enable or disable AutoRelease™ Dry. “A0” disables AutoRelease™ Dry. “A1” activates AutoRelease™ Dry. ^Rosi

• I believe so. There is something in the manual referring to disabling this feature. You can view the manual online (search for "disable" in this document) and I recommend you call the manufacturer to confirm.
