• Which format are you looking for specifically? It does PCM.

• Your receiver will only decode the signals that it receives from the Blu ray player. On the other hand, I am sure that your receiver has enhanced surround ( Cinema A, Cinema B, Virtual Speakers, Hall, Studio, etc. capabilities.
