• No, just USB cord to TV and power cord are needed.

• I'm old school, I use a hardwired connection, it will work fine with either. I'm reasonably sure that you need an Internet connection for the best results and to keep the firmware up to date. That said, it may operate just fine without the connection but you would need to try it out to be certain.
