Will the Apple headphone buttons work on this? Will I be able to turn volume up/down and skip tracks by pushing the buttons on the white headphones I prefer to use? Don't want to have to take device out of my pocket to skip songs or change volume null

The headphones will work but the controls may or may not work. Some of the functions may work while some will not.

I use mine for the radio. I change the volume with the buttons on my headphones. I've never used the mp3 player so I can't answer if it changes tracks or not, sorry.
