• Hi Wendy, please be informed that we do not recommend using External SSD Drives to be used as a bootable drive. In order to know if your MAC computer would be able to boot from an External Drive, it would be best to contact Apple Support.

• It is a Drive, only better as it is an SSD. It works perfectly with any data transfer. We use them on mac and interchangeably with other systems. No issues.
