You can password protect it by installing SanDisk Security app. The installer is available in the disk itself. So it's Free.

Hi, please be informed that you can use the pre-installed software in the SSD Drive to password-protect your data. However, please be informed that it will not lock the whole SSD Drive instead it will create a password protected vault inside the SSD Drive wherein you can transfer the files that you want to lock.
