• As long as you have a sata port and cable (sometimes comes with your computer, or just buy one cheap) it should work. 99% of computers have sata ports.

• Hi, please be informed that if your HP Pavilion laptop has an internal 2.5" SATA slot, then you can connect this SSD Drive in your laptop. In order to know if your laptop has an internal 2.5" SATA slot, it would be best to contact HP Customer Support as they would have all the technical specifications for your laptop.

• It should work unless the laptop is an ancient model using IDE connectors. It is SATA connector so it should pop in and work fine. I have one in my old HP DV7-4297 that is probably 10+ years old and its fine. Actually keeps the laptop a bit cooler as no mechanical parts. Keep in mind if older machine, it probably won't take full advantage of the read/write speeds the drive is capable of, but should work fine.
