Looked at specs for the T470 and it apparently has a 256gb SSD PCIe-type (M.2 style SSD I guess) so the "standard" 2.5" type SSD like this one will not fit in the T470.
Personally, it is not something I would try.

As long as the existing drive is 2.5 then yes should be a perfect fit side note if you want to keep everything on your current drive I recommend using aomei back upper it’s a free program download it before you replace the current drive and order a serial ata USB adapter to connect the new drive with its super easy and fast just YouTube clone hard drive to ssd using aomei

Hi: If the hardrive inside the laptop is size 2.5 you can replace it, but if the hardrive is M2 size you cannot replace it.
