Yes, this would work but would need a SSD holder to take place of the DVD drive. You can get these pretty cheap at Amazon. Also, you would need to clone the HDD to the SSD and then reformat the HDD so that you can use it to store and not to boot from. Other than that it should work good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the system supports sata drives then you can. I have used this for main drive on other systems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it will work if you accept mounting the drive with tape (or just leaving it floating) because HP won't have a correct mounting bracket.

For example, one you remove the plastic back cover, likely only possible after removing the stand, then you can see inside. You probably won't be able to see much because there will be metal covers/ shields/, brackets everywhere. You will have to take those off next. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Without having a serial number to access the relevant documents on the HP website, I can only guess. It *should* be possible to swap a slim OD drive adapter (with a 2.5" SSD) and that chipset has SATA III drive specifications, so the full capability of the drive should be possible. Since you have USB 3.0 (and 2.0) ports, another option might be to move the 3.5" drive to an external USB caddy and use that SATA III point for an 2.5" SSD in a 3.5" adapter. (Tip: external optical drives only need USB 2.0 unless Blu-ray)
