“If I download all of my pictures, ringtones, files, downloads, etc... can I insert the USB back into the phone and pull up any of the things I downloaded onto the disk. I have a Samsung 22 plus”

Get an adapter USB to USB-c ... I store phone folder backups, pictures, documents all the time. For long-term storage I transfer from flash drive to a hard drive. But for routine monthly back ups these work great
