• Yes, but you probably don't want to run apps or games off of it. You would be better off moving audio files, videos, photos etc to it and keeping apps on the internal drive.

• Well, its an external drive. It will give you the choice to transfer some files to it and use it while its in. It wont mean its going to give your laptop more memory.
