Try the Sd HC card instead of the XC card. And you can format it on your smartphone, laptop or Desktop computer. Just because the Camera itself will not format it, that doesn't mean that it can't be formatted

And if it will not format it from your camera then try formatting it from your computer or laptop. Even some smartphones will format it for you. Are you can just call the Geek Squad at Bestbuy. They'll more than likely help you out, Free of charge
