A:AnswerHello, I will say this if you bought a name brand TV - Sony, Samsung, Vizio - and you bought this Sanus mount you'll find it should fit fine. Sanus designs and builds its mount to fit on over 10 manufactures but the focus on the three manufactures I listed above. I would not worry that it won't fit.
A:AnswerYou should check the size of your TV against the size of the mount. I'm guessing they put 42" as the minimum because the mount would be longer than TVs smaller than that and would show behind it.
