The spacers are not supposed to fit inside any holes in the back of a TV. Think of them as pieces of pipe separating the TV from the structure of the Sanus stand, that allow you to insert a long screw (bolt actually) through them and attach the structure to the TV. They are used whenever the back of your TV does not have a flat back (relatively flat; none are perfectly flat), or has protrusions that would interfere with the installation. What matters is that you have the right fasteners to go through the horizontal channels and the spacers, and can screw into the appropriate holes in the back of your TV.
