• The material is steel and it is heavy on the base to hold the tv. It's actually pretty big around the base and bar but not too high which is perfect for high closest.

• The whole support is made of thick gauge steel. The base is heavy as well as the back support holding the tv. I have a 55 inch tv mounted and I must say there is no Way this tv will tip over. I can see it supporting a larger tv with no problem. Paid $100 dollars for it on sale. I got this mainly so my sound bar would not block the Signal from my remote to the tv by raising it.
