No the case thickness prevents it to be connected. If you go with satechi case that wont be an issue!

This would greatly depend on the case you have if it has a special cutout to accommodate hubs like the Pro Hub Slim. The hub is about 4 7/8 inches long and sits flush when connected to a MacBook and most laptop cases would add protection around the Mac’s USB-C ports that may prevent the hub from securing tightly.
