It should work fine. We used this to back up our two computers, one with vista and the other with Win7, and it worked just fine. I don't see why it would be different with the Win8.1 but I have honestly not had any experience with backing up one on that operating system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You're playing with fire. I would never use an automatic system backup of even one system on external drives, let alone 3 Operating systems. However, if by back up you mean save and manually backup files yourself, then yes you can. You can plug it into any windows os and it reads as an external drive, to which you can save things and plug into other machines / systems and access them / transfer them, etc. Just be VERY careful to never let these drives get too full, and to not have any HUGE files on there if they do get full. Watch out for automatic backup files..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can backup as many as you want to one drive location as long as you still have the space. Make sure you eject it properly from each computer to avoid any corruption once you are done with your backup.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't tried this, but I imagine so, as long as each computer has a different name. You'd have to manually connect each computer to the external hard drive, though, in order to do so. The backup software will recreate the file paths for each file banked up, and will file all of those in a folder of the same name as your computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as there is sufficient room on the drive and the computers can reach it, you can use this device to back up any of these versions of Windows. The caveat is that each computer must be able to reach the device. This can be as simple as plugging the drive into each computer, or you can get fancy and share the drive on a network these computers connect to.
