Only if you put the install files on it as well as the data to be migrated. Office has to be installed on the machine, it will not run if you only move the data and program files.

I don't remember exactly how I did it, but I do remember that I log into the Microsoft website with my normal login, found my installation on my old computer, and downloaded it to the new computer. One way or the other I believe disabled that copy that was on the old computer through Microsoft. Anyway, no copying, no redownload.

However, there are some kind of programs called "portable" that no need to install, but have to be opened and executed every time you want to use it, as it were the first time. Office is a pack of programs you need to install them in the computer. Not enough to copy the files.
