If we are talking about the same drive this is a single cord unit. Powered through the USB cable and compatible with USB 2.0 and 3.0. No 2nd cable beyond the USB like the old external drives.

No "power cord" just a USB to your laptop/xbox/ etc. It's just a simple USB 3.0 (basic USB cord). The cord is included and attached to the box, you couldn't possible mix it up.

This external hardrive does not require a power cord. The USB cord provided transfers data and power. The power source being the machine exchanging information.
