An excellent backup for any User
|Posted .I have bought over three external hard drives over the past ten years, ranging from 1 to 3 TB in size. While all of them were adequate, the larger ones, were slower and they all wore out quickly, from the largest to the smallest. Seagate is not only 2 TB in memory size, it is three times faster than any of the others I have owned. it out-performed them all in every category. It is portable, fast, and does not use an electrical cord but gets it's power from the USB cord that it uses for computer connections, so only one cord needed. Just plug into your computer USB port and its up and running.... that easy. I also recommend a small carrying case to hold the portable drive and it's cord for protection. The Insignia™ - Hard Shell Case for Most Portable Hard Drives - Black, fits it to a tee, and the cheapest on the market, a hardshell covered in cloth. It's superb!!! Five stars for both

If you're looking for a PS4 HDD upgrade
|Posted .Great product to upgrade old 500gb PS4 HDD. Do note that the drive is slightly thinner than the standard drive in the console, but it's been working fine so far. Installation takes minutes, with a slight delay on the thinner than expected drive

Plenty of Storage
|Posted .After looking at different name brands offered and reading the reviews, I decided on Seagate. I already have 1 Seagate hard drive but it did not have enough memory on it (only 500 gb) for what I needed. My main purpose is for picture storage for several generations of pictures. I decided on the 2TB for the size which is more than enough but I would rather have too much than not enough. I love the size. It is small enough to carry in a purse and they also offer carrying cases for them. The only complain I have for them is the cord is too short that attaches to the computer (17 inches) but others may like the length the way it is.

Perfect price and quality
|Posted .When you first feel the hard drive in your hand you noticed a metallic finish on the front and the plastic covering on the rear the plastic covering on the rear has some swirls that acts as grip. The finish I purchase was jet black very sleek and portable. Internally the unit functions very well as a hard drive with use of a high flow or normal USB port. The unit will work more efficiently with a high speed port. The regular port can take some time with reguards to the amount of data begin sent to or taken from the device. Results will vary based on platfroms and hardware. The software that came with the unit worked very well and was user frendly. This portable hard drive is a great value and I would recommend it to you if you're looking for 2 terabytes of storage space that you can fit in your back pocket.

So far so good
|Posted .Everything is working good so far. I have this to back up my data for my 5k Retina 27 inch Imac. Just plug and play, dont forget to eject it before disconnecting. It's simple to format the drive if you know what you are doing on a Imac using the progam called Disk Utility. No corruption or loss of data with my product. I will update my review if it fails and I hope it doesn't.

Easy to setup even for Mac
|Posted .I wanted a good quick and easy backup drive to store photos from my MacBook Pro(running older version of OS X 10.7). Plugged the Seagate in and installed some easy software that came up on a prompt and everything was some in a matter of min. I like this drive cause I can use time machine if I wanted, but I wanted to use it just as a drag and drop drive to store photos and it works well. Cool small slim design, love how tech moves along into practical sizes instead my old power corded huge hard drives in the past...big as yearbooks!

Great Hard Drive Replacement for PS4!
|Posted .Checked out the good reviews for this online as a PS4 hard drive replacement. Search on YouTube and you'll find a tutorial on how to open up this external drive and remove the hdd inside so you can place this into your PS4 and upgrade to 2TB. In return you can put the 500GB hdd that was in your PS4 into the housing/enclosure and use it as an external USB 500GB Hard drive with your PC/Mac (or even additional storage space for your XBox One, once formatted), rather than it just sitting in a drawer somewhere. Be aware though that once you open the enclosure you void your warranty with Seagate and won't be able to return this but it comes highly recommended and worked for both my friend and I. Good Luck! It's not hard at all. Just watch the tutorial video on YouTube first and you'll be fine. Take your time when opening the enclosure!

Fast, Portable & USB 3.0 Powered
|Posted .These Seagate Backup Plus Slim drives are the greatest technological innovation of the decade (so far). Thin, lightweight, portable, rugged and fast, they solve all manner of storage problems. I've benchmarked them using Crystal Disk software and found consistent read rates of 122 Mb/s and write rates of 101 Mb/s. The free 200GB of OneDrive storage is a nice lagniappe.

Q: QuestionIf I put my very important family photos on it, is it safe for a while?I'm not going to be using it very much other than to put all of my photos, videos, movies, etc. on it about once ever 2 months. How long will it last before I should get a new one or be worried about it crashing and everything deleting? Or is that not a problem with this one?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No matter how good a hard drive, it never good to store important files on only one. It is always best two drives that have identical data. It's best to store them in locations that way if one is in a fire or a flood, your data is still safe on the other one.

Q: QuestionI only 2.0 usb connections. What is usb 3.0/2.0++
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer While USB 3.0 is faster, this device is compatible to use with USB 2.0 as well. In fact all USB 3.0 devices are made to work with USB 2.0 too. USB 3.0 and 2.0 both use same type of plug and port but 3.0 is faster and is colored blue inside the port. I used this drive on both USB 3.0 and 2.0.

Q: QuestionWill this work with ps4?I know this question has already been asked in the past, but since the latest app "Media Player" was included with the other apps of the PS4, it looks like the PS4 now allows users to play music and media from a USB storage device is what the app says. Does that now include external Hard Drives or are they still not compatible with PS4 if you use the USB feature with it? Another reason I was curious is because you are now able to back up your entire PS4 since the latest feature-rich update to the system. I already have over 500gb of data on my PS4 and the last time I checked, I don't think that they make flash drives that large. Could somebody please look into this and let me know?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This is the recommended drive to replace the internal ps4 500gb drive. Sony will not void your warranty. Very easy to do, I walked my 7 year old through it. He did all the labor

Q: QuestionConnecting to my networkCan I connect this via the USB port to my router.
Asked by rickw.
- A:Answer Most of the time this will work with being connected to a router. That is if the router is designed for an external drive. Some configuration may be required. Please review the documentation that came with your router or look the documentation up online if you do not still have the original docs.
