Is this good for a 5 to 6 year old Desk Top? null

This drive is designed to run over USB3 for best performance, but it can be used with USB2. It will run considerably slower on USB2. Your question doesn't give any PC specs, so this is the only issue I can think of that might not be optimal. It has its own power adapter, so it is not powered by the computer.

It's a USB 3.0 hard drive. If your computer has USB 3.0, it would be a good match. If your computer has only USB 2 capability, you can probably save some money by buying a USB 2 hard drive.

TO BE HONEST, MY FIRST HARD DRIVE, SAME BRAND AND SAME STORAGE CAPACITY , STILL WORKING, GOING ON 3 OR 4 YEARS AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL, I LIKE IT VERY MUCH. DOES WHY I PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE. I WOULD RECOMMENDED.
