Can I use this to exchange data from a Mac to a windows laptop with same format My old Apple computer is on it's last legs. I want to change the files on it to pdf and then drop them into this hard drive and then be able to pull them into a windows laptop without reformatting the hard drive which would wipe out the Apple pdf files I'm trying to transfer in. Can I use this hard drive with one formatting to do the transfer???

Yes that can be done if you setup the HDD's file system to support both mac and win. When you first connect and set up your HDD it will ask you to do the set up and you can do to support both.

Yes. You can use this on both a Mac and Windows. If you find you cannot you can use your Mac's disk utility to format the drive to MS DOS FAT format which is readable by both Mac and Windows. If your windows laptop can read it, you will not need to reformat and wipe out the files.

I do. Works fine for traditional files just don't expect to open apple libraries (like your iPhoto library) on a Windows machine. As long as you export pictures to the drive through iPhoto you are fine.

Yes it should work as long as you format the hard drive to xfat or fat32

Yes it will accept it. You have to change the format from Windows NT File System (NTFS) to MS-DOS (FAT). You can perform this on your MAC under the Applications Utilities menu and Disk Utility and click on the hard drive and erase. It will then ask you which format you would like. Hope this helps!!!!
