A mac uses the built-in Time Machine system to backup the computer. Simply open Time Machine in the system preferences app and select the Time Machines settings. Once there, turn on Time Machine and set up a backup drive after the seagate drive is plugged into the computer. It should work from there and back up the computer periodically whenever the drive is connected to the computer. The first backup will be the largest because it does the whole operating system with its contents. Subsequent backups will be smaller and quicker. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need a backup utility. Newer Macs have Time Machine built in. Use that. If you do not have it, you need to purchase a backup program.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just set it up as a Time Machine drive and let OS X handle it, much easier that way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the simple backup on with my HP computer. For mac you have to go into Menu-System Preferences-then click Time Machine (that is the backup for mac) It should put a shortcut on the menu bar the next time you hook up your external hard drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use time machine option with Mac operating system. Piece of cake!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no back-up button on this drive. If you plan to use this as a TimeMachine destination drive, then it will back up automatically.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you go to "time machine" in the "launch pad" for back up on the new mac
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. On your Mac start the time machine application and point it to your external drive as the backup location, time machine will then provide you options for backup frequency, etc.. And it will do the rest.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
