“Does this drive operate as a bluetooth type of device? I have an iPad4 w/o 4g capability. Can I access content on this drive w/o having wi-fi or internet connection? In other words, can you access your files through a bluetooth connection?”

This product is a WiFi hotspot, so you do not need another WiFi network to use it. You can connect directly to this devices WiFi network and store or retrieve your files. It does not work with BlueTooth.

An internet connection/ cable modem/ or a dsl modem is not required to access this device wirelessly, However, you can still use a router equipped with a wifi access point to get to it. You can also bypass the wireless router and directly access this device through the wifi settings available on both ipad4 models.
