I actually received it and put it together. It is only 48" wide, but with that said it will hold a 50"tv. The base of the tv will fit just fine on top of the entertainment stand. That said, the tv screen will be just a little wider. As long as the tv stand is up against a wall, you'll be fine with it. It is actually a nice looking stand.
