Worked fine and then said unresponsive. Did the reset on it only to get same message. What am I missing? Is this a cheap alternative that does not work? null

I found the way! 
I had this exact same problem. Bulb working fine for about 2 months and suddenly it said “unresponsive”. 
Here’s what you gotta do: 
- With the bulb on, reset it. (You do this by turning it quickly on and off about 10 times, leave it on and if you did it correctly it should blink 3 times... if it doesn’t, just try again) 
- Leave the bulb on and disconnect your Alexa device for about 30 seconds. 
- Reconnect Alexa (bulb on the whole time) go to your Alexa App and: go to “devices”, “add device” (the plus sign at the top right corner), choose “light” and scroll down until you see “Sengled”. It will ask you if your bulb has some kind of “Z” red symbol, choose “no”. Then it will ask you if it has a bluetooth symbol, choose “yes”. 
- It will send you to pairing mode with Alexa, wait until it’s finished. At this step, my bulb blinked twice at the beginning of the pairing mode— that’s how I knew it worked. 
- As an alternative, you can turn off the bulb the moment you disconnect the Alexa device, and when you get to the pairing mode step, turn it on again (but I did it exactly as described and it worked).

I got two of these bulbs and both disconnected from the Dot the same time today. It can't even be reset for some reasons and support site does not offer any other ways to resolve the problem. I guess it is now just ordinary light bulbs. Fortunately both were only add-ons from Dots purchase. Definitely the bulbs are NOT a smart buy if you'd buy it separately.

I would be very disappointed and definitely would return this lightbulb had I purchased it however it came as a freebie with my echo dot. It was Very difficult to set up and finally got it set up and it lasted about a week now the echo dot Says the bulb is unresponsive. very frustrating.

This is a problem that raises its ugly head often... and so very frustrating! It's not that I have a problem turning on/off my lights, but the whole purpose is convenience, right??That being said, it's not convenient, but the fix is as Samantha stated... 
I had to remove the devices from my app and start over... I've done this a number of times, but recently it did not work. I unplugged the Echo for 20-30 seconds and behold! let there be light! Thanks to Samantha... I'd looked all over online for a fix last month, but could find no real resolution. 
I most certainly will never actually purchase a Sengled light bulb... But as stated, these came free with the purchase. Geee....wonder why? :p

Mine worked for about a week, then i got a few more. NONE of them work well now. They might last a couple days but then go unresponsive, if not sooner. I called the manufacturer and all they could tell me was not to put them in lamps with adjustable switches. (low/med./high switches). I only had one like that. But when I moved that one it still kept going to unresponsive, just like the others. Worst part is that i gave them a 5 star review a couple days after i got the first one and Best Biuy won't let me revise that review or add a new one.

I had a similar problem and tried to do everything with the bulb, but the problem was immediately fixed when I unplugged and replugged my Alexa. Sometimes the problem comes from Alexa device. You might want to try that.

I had one do the same thing. Disconnected it for a few days thinking it was probably not going to connect again. I put it in another fixture away from the original site and did reset technique, then tried to connect ... it connected for now. doesn't always work but usually now. Good Luck!

Thank you Samantha! I've been trying to reset this bulb for 3 days! The trick is DEFINITELY after resetting the bulb, disconnecting Alexa and then pairing again. I must've reset the bulb five times with no luck; only Alexa stating either that "no device found", or "light unresponsive". I unhooked Alexa from her power source and after "looking for devices" my bulb was back in action. Thanks again Samantha!

Had the same issue. Amazon had no answers when I hit the Alexa Help. Searched everywhere to no avail. Samantha's fix worked for me. If you follow her instructions you should be able get yours to work again.

I unplugged/rebooted my 4 Amazon Echo devices and then the Sengled lights became operational again.  No need to reset the lightbulbs.

Samantha's answer worked! After searching and trying the Sengled Smart Lightbulb manufacturers answer and Alexa Echo Dot's answers Samantha's cure had you putting the lightbulb(s) in pairing mode by turning it off and on up to ten times and then unplugging the Echo Dot in my case for thirty seconds, plugging in the Dot  and using the Alexa App on my phone which I also ended the app just in case and opening the Alexa app finally was able to recognize and pair with all four lightbulbs that had all stopped responding! Only the Global Smart bulb hadn't been affected when the other bulbs had failed. Thanks Samantha!

My problem is a little different. I have several Sengled lights already set up with my Echo. Got a new lamp, put a Sengled bluetooth bulb in, and it either will NOT connect, or says "Geeni" light connected, and it comes up as the same as another light I've already paired. HELP!!!!!

My Sengled bulb recently became unresponsive. I tried all of the resets, step-by-step instructions, every suggestion I could find. None of it worked. When I tried to add the device for the final time, in the setup screen - instead of choosing Light > Sengled under “All Devices” I just typed “Sengled” in the “Device type or brand” search bar provided at the top and it worked! Hopefully this helps someone else.

Today all three of my Sengled bluetooth bulbs stopped responding. Alexa said they were non-responsive. Tried to reset the bulbs using the on-off-on-off stuff to no avail. Then I unplugged my Echo Dot device and plugged it back in. Suddenly all the bulbs were responsive again.

I got a second lightbulb cause the first one did the same thing. Then the app decided to update out of nowhere and it made my light unresponsive. BB nor Sengled nor google could help me find a good solution until I followed Samantha’s instructions. I lost hope until I decided to try her tips out and lo and behold it actually worked! I followed Samantha's instructions below however when I tried adding the device again in the Alexa app, it would not pair. Alexa said it could not locate the device however, when I looked at my "Groups" in the Alexa app, I noticed that the bulb was showing as "responsive" once again. So I gave a command to shut the light off and it worked so this may be something to check as well.

I had the same problem. I tried what Sengled offered on their help menu. I took it out of the socket for a while. I reset it. I reset the Echo Dot. I ended up giving up. Like the one reply said, I guess it's a regular LED lightbulb. I can't complain as it came free with our Amazon Echo Alarm Clock. It worked great for a couple of months, then became unresponsive. I will not be purchasing another one of these, that is for sure.

I had a similar problem.

I put the Sengled app on my phone.

To get the bulb in setup mode turn the light on and off five times with a second/two in between.

Then using the Sengled app on my iPhone I was able to get Bluetooth established.

The light was now controllable via Olexa.
