Can the brush be turned off? null

Easily with a touch of a button; it goes from carpet to hard floor setting. Also, it is not a true brush, but more of a roller with “wipers” that don’t allow hair to get wound around them. Pretty neat.

We would like to inform you that the brushroll can not be turned off on this unit.
